So today, we started out with some of that Mental Math jazz. We had a little fight over the horizontal symmetry of the ABC's and then we were off to the races! Then we went on to see who actually did their homework and found out the other two methods of solving those wonderful sequences!

Method 3: Shodor's Interactive Sequencer

This website is where you find the Sequencer, it is pretty simple to use, and can be used at home or wherever you may be.

Method 4: Sequence Mode

''Sequences&Series''

1)Geometric/Arithmetic sequences & production stability
2)Fractal Analysis - A fractal is "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole.

Today we took a look at sierpinskis triangle.

Test today

Today in class we finished writing our Matrix Modelling test (most of us started friday). Good luck to everyone on the test. Since we were finishing the test today we did not learn anthing new so this is all i have to tell you.

TEST! Well... kinda

Today we were supposed to have our test on matricies but we were interrupted by an assembly with Gary Doer saying that the swan valley is going to host the 2012 summer games. But that only lasted around 15-20 minutes... We came back to class and Mr. Max told us that we could write the test if we were ready and he would give us the first couple pages of the test. And we will continue the rest on monday. The people that didnt write are taking this time to study.

TEST REVIEW!

Today we started off class going right into our test review for our test tommorow. Mr.Max broke down the unit Matrix Modelling into 4 parts. The first part being Matrix Modelling Info including: vocabulary, naming, calculators and MAtrix operations: +, -, scalar x, and matrix x. You can look at our workbooklets Excercise 1-4 for practise questions. The next section was Matrix Multiplication where he told us that we can use it to speed up calculations, and to AVOID using "nonsense" calculations and to expect word problems. In our workbooklets we can look at Excercise 5 for practise questions. Next was Transition Matricies: (Initial) and (Transition), row by square (1xn) (nxn), "1 sums", "loopies", and [B]x[A]^n<--(Stability)/ [B]x[A] (nx1). We can look at Excercise 6 for practise. The last section he talked about was Networks: Direct and Non-Directed,
----> <------->, node, direct, route, "at most", "exactly" and [A]vs.[A]2 vs. [A]3..etc. We can look in our booklets Excercise 7-8 for practise. We then went through many practise questions as a class to help for the test tomorrow. Mr.Max also told us we can bring in a formula sheet to help us with our test. It can only be 8 1/2x 11 and we have to make it ourselves. That was today's class!
Good luck on the test everyone!

First thing this morning, we did mental math aswell as Mr.Max did a homework check from the questions he assigned yesterday for homework. Exercise 7 2,3,4,5. We went over question number 4 as a class. We also discussed about people that don't have their homework done,if they should get a second chance by doing their homework and showing Mr.Max again if they are not done. We decided that it would be fair if they showed the homework before the lesson was over. We did Exercise 8 amd talked about "back to itself" no more than two relays and talked about direct connections.

TEST DATE!

Sorry guys, I couldn't remember my email password so I had to make a new account. Mr. Maksymchuk just added me in. So, scribing for Thursday September. 17th.

We have a test ( if you are ready) on Friday September 25th on Matrix Modelling.

Exercise 2

Today is september 21 and we went over our homework, exercise 6 question 2. Mr.Maks checked our homework which was supposed to be 2 and 4. If you didn't finish it you have a chance to do two other questions and get marks for them tomorrow.
On Friday, Mr.Max assigned two questions on transition matrices due for Monday morning. Some students didn't understand the questions so Mr.Max went over question number two with us. After discussing question two Mr.Max put provincial exams on our website for us to study off of.

monday.sept 21

Today class started with kellen tell her story between her car getting "stolen"and getting accused of stealing gas. After her big story we did our mental math. He then checked our home work from friday. He also had to give us a lecture on doing our home work and passing with better then 50.We then corrected a qestion off the qestions we did on friday. We got off topic and talked about cultures. He is putting provincial exam qestions on the blog. For people that didn't finish the home work it due for the next day.

Scribe Post Sept 18/09

Today was a quick, block 2 class, and Mr Maks went through another lesson on tranistion matricies. He created an example that included the grade nine business to sugary distributers and how it will change in future years. All the examples he did on the smart board are below.
